BLACK MANTRA CALLS...
Black Mantra Liner Notes

"This is a song-by-song synopsis of our fifth studio album, Black Mantra. These are only guides to help you understand the songs, but you've got to listen to them first to fully understand what they mean." -- Wolf Gemora

Judas Noose: the first of many political songs in this album. The lyrics speak of the results when political tyrants (the true Judases of society) are brought down from power.

MECKAM: each letter stands for each drug used in a concoction invented by someone close to the band. It also reflects the band's distaste for drug addicts and drugs in general. Mogs, Ecstacy, Cocaine, Keratin, Acid Mix. MECKAM.

Trenta: the lyrics talk about how religious "leaders" sell eternal salvation to their congregation for monetary price. The more money you give, the better chance you're going to heaven. Man can be very stupid at times, no?

Undertow: another political essay. The lyrics speak for themselves, very black and white.

Bow Unto Thee: this is a song about sex. Specifically, not getting it when you need it. Basti's lyrics sum it all up, "...I don't love you but your skin will do..." Note Manuel's sleazy , "New York City pimp" guitar solo.

No Falter: this talks about not giving in to the dark side. Now matter how much bad stuff is going on around us, we have to be strong to fight it off. "Take 'em out/take 'em down/one by one/no falter...".

Shoulders of Cain: the song narrates the thoughts of the Biblical character Cain, and how he feals about being cheated and used as a scapegoat.

Bleed One Way: you know what? I don't really get the lyrics to this one. Listen to it and give me a call when you get it. Hehehe

Heaven Spen: this song talks about a leader defending himself from people who criticize him by telling them that they chose him in the first place. Sounds familiar? "YOU MADE ME!"

Idlip: Mon wrote this beautiful song about not fearing death, but instead welcoming it as a new beginning and as flight from the pain in this world.

Revolution Now: plain and simple, folks. "...bring it all down/revolution now..."
